How is this possible?
Protect-A-Child starts with a thick wall aluminum tube (1/16" wall thickness (.063")). We then solidly reinforce it throughout the critical fulcrum point with either a second "thick wall" aluminum tube (total thickness 1/8") or with a solid fiberglass rod. This reinforcement creates a super strong pool fence support post that cannot break at the fulcrum point (where the post meets the deck) and minimizes bending problems.

Most competing mesh pool fence companies use only "thin wall" (1/22" thick) (.049") aluminum tubes with an X or Y extrusion built into them. The X or Y extrusion seems OK - until you realize that once the bottom screw hole is drilled to attach the mesh to the post, it creates a weak spot. And that weak spot happens to be exactly at the fulcrum point where all the fence tension stress is concentrated. Anyone or anything that might bump against the fence also stresses the fence exactly at this point. The result, as shown in the photo below, is posts that bend and break easily. In a fence where child safety is important, we find this unacceptable.
